Methoxsalen (Methonid-10) tablets contain an active compound used in treating skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and vitiligo by making the skin more sensitive to ultraviolet light. This process is part of a treatment known as PUVA (psoralen and UVA radiation) therapy.

Methoxsalen should be taken 2-4 hours before UVA light exposure, followed by controlled UVA exposure to treat skin conditions. Patients must protect their eyes and skin from sunlight and wear UVA-absorbing sunglasses for 24 hours post-treatment.
